The Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) Honorary Gala 2025 brought together fashion, music and modern broadcasting in one well-organised night, with NRG Radio Uganda and Play It Loud playing a key role in shaping both the atmosphere at the venue and the experience for audiences watching from outside.

The event opened with a surprising hosting arrangement that quickly caught the audienceâs attention. Azeezah Hashim from Play It Loud co-hosted the ceremony alongside Roy Ronald of UBL. The combination delivered a fresh and confident flow on stage, blending entertainment energy with a corporate touch, setting the pace for the rest of the night.
A major highlight of the gala was the introduction of the NRG Halftime Show, the first time such a segment has been held at a fashion awards event in Uganda. The show shifted the ceremony into full performance mode when Vinka took to the stage. Supported by a well-coordinated dance crew, she energized the audience and turned the runway into a live concert space. The performance was further boosted by surprise appearances from Karole Kasita and Aaronx, drawing loud reactions from the crowd.
Play It Loud also extended the galaâs reach beyond the physical venue. The entire event was streamed live and free on PlayItLoud.com, giving viewers across Uganda and abroad the chance to follow the awards in real time. The broadcast featured uninterrupted performances, behind-the-scenes moments and full award coverage, helping turn the ASFAs into a shared digital experience and strengthening Play It Loudâs role in promoting African talent.

Dance added an international feel to the night through a contemporary performance by Valentino and his partner Donlynn Fischer. Their routine stood out for its precision and strong stage presence. Musician Elijah Kitaka, who won Most Stylish Male Artist of the Year, later performed to loud applause. The event closed on a high note with a performance by Rwandan artist Kevin Kade.
The gala also served as a platform for new talent, introducing Swedish-Ugandan singer Tyra Chantey. Her performance mixed original songs with classic old-school tracks and later featured her uncle, veteran musician Navio, in a special on-stage moment. Rickman kept the energy going with a blend of new music and fan favourites, while Ugandan girl group Warafiki opened the night with a lively performance. Karole Kasita also delivered an energetic set during the evening.

By introducing Ugandaâs first-ever halftime show at a fashion awards ceremony and offering a free, high-quality live broadcast through Play It Loud, the ASFAs Honorary Gala 2025 signaled a new direction in how fashion and entertainment events are produced and shared. These developments continue to strengthen NRG Radio Ugandaâs position as Brand of the Year, based not only on awards but on its growing cultural influence.
