The Ugandan entertainment industry is in deep mourning following the death of celebrated deejay DJ Ciza, born Seth Mwalye, who passed away on January 24, 2026, due to reported health complications.

DJ Ciza, who rose to national recognition during the COVID-19 lockdown, became a household name for his energetic and creative mixes that seamlessly blended local Ugandan sounds, African music, and international hits. His consistency and innovation earned him a strong fan base, especially among the youth.
Born on January 26, 1992, DJ Ciza would have marked his 34th birthday on Monday, January 26, 2026. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, the date will instead be used to lay him to rest. According to family members, the late deejay will be buried in Mbale, Manafwa District, turning what should have been a day of celebration into one of farewell.
