Social media personality Gloria Njuba has reportedly been admitted to Butabika National Referral Mental Hospital following concerns related to excessive alcohol and substance abuse.
Njuba, who was once close friends with media personality Sheilah Gashumba, has been in the public spotlight in recent weeks after a highly publicized fallout between the two. The feud escalated into a physical altercation that dominated entertainment headlines and social media discussions.
Amid the chaos, reports emerged that Sheilah Gashumba had Njuba arrested, leading to her spending several nights in custody. She was later released on bail with the help of fashion designer Abryanz and socialite Katrina Nilzero—both of whom are also said to have since fallen out with Gashumba.
Shortly after her release, Njuba appeared to return to a partying lifestyle. In circulating videos, she is seen being forcefully removed from what appeared to be a nightclub by bouncers following a scuffle. Sources close to the situation alleged that she had lost control due to heavy drinking and substance use.
Following the incident, Njuba was reportedly taken to Butabika Hospital with the assistance of her friend, Thomas Todd, as she was leaving Kurax Food Lounge. She has since been admitted for a three-month rehabilitation program at the Alcohol and Drug Unit (ADU), a specialized center that provides treatment and recovery services for individuals struggling with substance use and related disorders.
Todd revealed that prior efforts to seek help for Njuba had failed. According to him, they initially admitted her to a mental health facility in Namugongo, but she was discharged after reportedly becoming violent toward other patients.

“The mother refused to sign the documents and left us there, saying we wanted to kidnap her child. They sedated her, but the next day when she woke up, she started fighting people there. They even took her to the police, but she was released,” Todd said.
He added that Njuba is battling depression and significant stress, noting that her current condition is serious. “She is so depressed; she has a lot of stress. As a person, she also has bad manners. I’m her friend, but I have to say it. Right now, she’s not well,” he stated.
Njuba’s admission has sparked mixed reactions online, with some calling for compassion and others urging responsible behavior among public figures. As of now, neither Gloria Njuba nor her family has issued an official statement regarding her condition.
