“Jajja, Give Us Something to Take Home!” – Kasuku’s Cash Plea to Museveni Politely Turned Down

Popular YouTuber and media personality Isaac Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, left many amused after openly requesting financial support from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni during the latest Jazz with Jajja engagement.

The high-profile discussion was held at State House Nakasero and moderated by Natasha Karugire alongside Kasuku himself. The session focused on key issues affecting the younger generation, including opportunities, leadership, and youth empowerment.

After making his submissions during the discussion, Kasuku surprised attendees when he lightheartedly appealed to the President for “something to take back home,” likening the visit to a traditional encounter with a grandfather.

“Usually when someone visits their Jajja, they are given a gift or something to take back home. So I’m requesting that Your Excellency gives us something to take back home,” Kasuku said, drawing laughter and support from members of his entourage.

However, the Fountain of Honour politely declined the request, explaining that granting such a favor at this time would be unethical. President Museveni noted that as a presidential candidate, any form of financial handout could be misinterpreted as bribery.

“I wouldn’t mind that, but now I’m a presidential candidate, and that would look like bribery. So we can wait until after the elections, and I’ll see about that,” Museveni responded.

The President, however, assured Kasuku and his team that the matter could be revisited after the general elections, scheduled for 15th January 2026.

The moment has since sparked conversations online, with many praising Museveni’s response while others debated the fine line between humor, tradition, and political ethics.
