Ugandan music star Spice Diana has finally confirmed her split from long-time manager Lubega Roger of Source Management, ending months of speculation about their professional relationship.
The singer, born Hajjara Namukwaya, revealed during a phone interview on radio that she and Roger have not worked together for close to a year, although they deliberately chose to keep the matter away from the public eye.
“It is true, I have not worked with him for almost a year now,” Spice Diana confirmed.
Rumours about their fallout had circulated for a long time, but neither party had come out to address them until now. According to Spice Diana, the delay in announcing the split was intentional, explaining that she does not rush to respond to public pressure.
“I think I took a long time to announce it because I am not the kind of person who jumps on anything because of pressure,” she said.
Despite parting ways professionally, Spice Diana dismissed claims of bad blood between her and Roger. She clarified that they are still on good terms and remain in communication, especially regarding ongoing business deals that still pass through him.
“We are good. We communicate when we have to because there are other things that still go through him,” she explained.
The “Siri Regular” hitmaker also revealed that she is now working with a new management team, which she plans to officially introduce to her fans soon. Interestingly, she noted that the team she is currently working with is the same team she had even when Roger was still her manager, only that leadership has changed.
“He is no longer my manager, but the communication is still there about things we need to talk about,” she added.
Spice Diana and Roger worked together for nearly a decade, a partnership that played a significant role in her rise to becoming one of Uganda’s biggest female music artists.
As she enters this new chapter, fans are eager to see what the future holds for Spice Diana under her new management.
