TikTok sensation turned musician Uncle Chumi, real name Mushabe Crek Haidare, is facing a storm of accusations after her former manager, Lax, publicly exposed her in a fiery interview with Spark TV journalists.
Lax alleged that Chumi, alongside a woman claiming to be Gen. Salim Saleh’s daughter, has repeatedly threatened his life, even pointing a gun at him on several occasions. He stated that he went public with these claims to safeguard himself in case of any harm and has since filed a case at Katwe Police Station.
“I’m here because they are threatening me. Those who know the woman who claims to be Salim Saleh’s daughter should help me. I can no longer work with Chumi because she is crazy,” Lax said.
The former manager further revealed that Chumi is currently homeless after being thrown out of her father’s house due to alleged disrespectful behavior. According to him, she only owns a loan-financed car with an outstanding balance of UGX 16 million.
Lax expressed regret over managing Chumi, claiming he invested heavily in her career but reaped nothing in return. He credited himself for hiring the songwriter behind her breakthrough single ‘Gwokutte Gwoba’ and connecting her with producer Sekret, only to be left unpaid and disrespected.
“Even for her song Guninya, I did everything. I made sure my friend got something out of it, but I never earned a shilling. She even confiscated my phone and property, then went online calling me a thief. Who dares steal from a thief?” Lax lamented.
Lax is now demanding UGX 10 million in unpaid debts from Chumi and has threatened to go after her music career if she fails to settle the matter.
The TikTok star is yet to respond to these explosive allegations.
