Ugandan musician Chozen Blood, born Patrick Musasizi, has finally addressed the heated reactions surrounding his recent fashion choice that left social media divided.
The singer became a trending topic last week after he was spotted in public rocking what many described as feminine attire, topped off with a lady’s handbag. The bold look quickly ignited debate online, with critics questioning his masculinity and accusing him of abandoning traditional male fashion norms.
Despite the backlash, Chozen Blood says he is unbothered.
“I Felt Good in It” Chozen Blood
Speaking about the viral moment, the singer revealed that he saw all the comments but chose not to let them affect him.
“You can never have control over people’s opinions. Everyone is free to say what they want and think what they like. I hardly take things personally or get angry over what people say. The only power I have is the power in my response,” Chozen Blood said.

He added that the incident turned out to be one of the funniest moments of his year, noting that the outfit was simply a fashion statement that unexpectedly went viral.
“It was my fashion story, and it trended so much. I saw everyone’s comments, but it has been the funniest moment of my life this year,” he added.
Fashion as Freedom of Expression
Chozen Blood is no stranger to bold fashion. At his debut concert, the singer showcased multiple standout outfits, further cementing his reputation as one of Uganda’s most fashion-forward male artists.
According to the singer, fashion is deeply personal and driven by emotion.
“Fashion is a freedom of expression. I choose an outfit to complement the mood I wake up in. It also depends on the weather and how I feel at that moment,” he explained.
As conversations around gender expression and personal style continue to evolve in Uganda’s entertainment industry, Chozen Blood’s stance sends a clear message: confidence matters more than public
